Not long out of the wrapper, Bring Back the Planes are 4 students from St Andrews University. The quartet took a crash course in musical etiquette before charming audiences, most notably at Rowchester Festival, with their unique brand of "Happy go lucky Folk". On the strength of work of mouth, the band have commanded their ascent nicely with a series of barnstorming performances on the same billing as Audio Bullys, The Gentlemen, Brent Flood, Andy Knox and The Little Eskimos. BBTP were selected for the compilation before they’d even recorded their first demo! Influenced by the likes of Bright Eyes, The Decemberists, Noah and the Whale, Laura Marling and My First Tooth, while managing to retain a rawer edge associated with The View, BBTP could just be about to bring the violin and glockenspiel back into vogue with their barefaced folk-pop. The sky’s the limit! |
