About the Record Label

Created by inspiration, inspired by Creation!

Inspired by the likes of Alan McGee (Creation Records) and Alan Horne (Postcard Records), we here at Fourtrak Records took up the challenge of starting our own record label in a bold move to showcase the exciting, innovative variety of talent in Scotland.

These Tartan shores produce more promising bands than anywhere else and we are dedicated to seeking out and presenting the brightest stars of the Scottish music scene. Over the coming months and years, we hope to build up an eclectic roster of artists ranging from Indie / Alternative / Folk Rock.

The indie label takes a DIY approach to the music industry. Like many aspiring musicians, label founder Bobby Mooney started out recording songs on a fourtrack tape recorder and has never lost his passion for music. His rallying call is: "Don't sit around; form a band, start a record label, put on a gig, make a film - do something with your life!"

The release of "A Sort of Homecoming: The Best of New Scottish Music" backs up our assertion that the Scottish music scene has always punched above its weight.
