One of the most famous things about Loanhead is the blue and yellow fronted Swedish furniture chain, although natives Red Ammo could just be about to paint the town a different colour. Describing their sound like Jack Daniels being thrown from a shale bing, the 3-piece rock band are ploughing the emotive indie furrow around the honeyed vocals of Elaine Mallon. The trio have an eclectic range of influences, straddling Queens of the Stoneage, Foo Fighters, Fugazzi, Steely Dan, Stiff Little Fingers, The Breeders and PJ Harvey. |
