''Sweetly drawled vocals over infectiously sprightly, Americana-tinged guitar tunes which are in truth more Nitshill than Nashville-influenced by that great Scottish song book with just a hint of US sunshine'' The Great Money Trick are a throwback to the great female fronted British indie pop bands of the 80’s like the Primitives and The Darling Buds. Bop-along pop with exhilarating and catchy hook lines. TGMT released their mini album Back to Front on Little Gem records on the back of last years' debut Patterns EP, which sounds like Friday I'm In Love-era The Cure... full of chiming guitars and upbeat melodies. The recent single “Rings Around You” was warmly received and has been played by Vic Galloway on his Radio 1 Introducing show. This adds to the airtime the band received with their last EP being played on Radio Scotland, XFM Scotland (Jim Gellatly), Clyde1 (Billy Sloan) and Radio Bremen in Germany where Patterns was nominated for single of the year. |
